WE CHALLENGE YOUNG MINDS

About Response Initiatives (REIN)

Rooted in community, dignity, and justice.

Our Mission

REIN was born from the belief that we ourselves can do it for us. Our work is to stand with communities, to strengthen the things already present: people, food, land, language, culture, youth, wisdom and ground innovations.

Our Approach

We do not arrive with answers. We listen, learn and work together to seeking out solutions. This way, we keep our methods, designs and solutions local.

Our Vision

We dream of a Liberia where people live with dignity, grow what they eat, teach what they know, speak their mother tongues without shame, and walk forward without leaving their roots behind. A Liberia where we do it ourselves, together.

About Us

Who we are

Response Initiatives (REIN) was born from a simple yet powerful belief: that Liberia’s solutions already live in its people. Too often, development has been imposed from the outside, leaving communities disempowered. At REIN, we walk alongside farmers, educators, healers, and youth to nurture sustainable futures, rebuild trust, and restore dignity.

Our History

A Journey Rooted in Community and Resilience

Response Initiatives started with conversations under trees, in school yards, on dusty roads, and in homes where people spoke honestly about what was missing in their communities.

Our founders are living examples of strength and persistence. They were born into problems our community faces, they lived through them, walked through broken school systems, worked farms that gave little back, and watched as local languages disappeared from classrooms and public spaces.

In 2020, after years of working across agriculture, education, and community organizing, we came together to build an environment that listens. Something that moves like our people move.

We chose the name “Response Initiatives” because we are not here to invent problems or solutions. We are here to add strategic values to the calls of the people.

To rise with the community. To act in a ways that are grounded. To resist silence, and to build with what we have.

From rural collaborations in leadership, agriculture, education health and well-being, to translating knowledge into mother tongues. Today we lift those methods with technical support, walking together on slow and steady road, but still walking.

Our journey is not one of perfection. But it is one of presence. Of being there. Of returning. Of staying.

That's why we tailor initiatives that responds well, staying local and grounded.
