Lighting the Future: Response Initiatives Executives Lead Solar Installation at Margibi University

On a bright and inspiring Friday, June 13, 2025 at Margibi University, a new chapter in sustainable education and youth empowerment began with the official launch of the 5KW Solar Energy Project, a cornerstone initiative under the BTFS Collaboration for Student Empowerment.

At the heart of this transformative effort are two of Response Initiatives’ own:

Paul P. Paukpa, Mechanical Engineer and Team Lead, and
Elvis M. Clinton, Mechanical Engineer and Technical Lead.

Together, Paul and Elvis are leading the installation phase of the project, working closely with a cohort of trained university students. Their leadership combines technical expertise, community rooted values, and a deep commitment to creating pathways for local innovation and climate resilience.

This milestone follows the successful completion of the theoretical training sessions, where students were introduced to key concepts in solar energy, systems design, and environmental sustainability. The sessions were officially climaxed on the same day as the project’s launch, setting the stage for hands-on, practical learning in the days ahead.

The launching ceremony was graced by notable figures, including:

Dr. Isaac Joseph, President of Margibi University, who served as keynote speaker and official launcher.

Dr. Seraphin Chally Abou, Project Coach and Academic Mentor

Dr. Simmons, Vice President for Student Affairs

Dr. Pajibo, Vice President for Administration

Ms. Justina D. Flumo, Public Administrator, Community Advocate, who offered strong words of encouragement to the students

A heartfelt thank you goes to the Bowier Trust Foundation Switzerland (BTFS) and its visionary Chairman, Mr. Walz, for believing in the future of Liberian youth. We also acknowledge the invaluable contributions of OST – Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences and the Swiss Knowledge Hub for their technical support and cross-border solidarity.

As Paul and Elvis lead this installation, they are not just wiring panels and connecting circuits, they are igniting a movement that bridges education, renewable energy, and youth-driven change.

At Response Initiatives, we believe that power when locally driven can do more than light classrooms. It can transform communities.
